Our Support Services

Finding out you have an unplanned pregnancy can turn a woman’s whole world around. We whole-heartedly believe that she has choices, and the choice is all her’s to make. We’re here to offer support, resources, and options. Our staff is informed and well-versed in many services and options.

A Supportive Hug

We provide...

A Listening Ear.

Most importantly, our team will listen and respect the wishes, fears, and concerns of the people we support. Our staff are social workers who have worked with many people navigating the challenges of an unplanned pregnancy. We believe in diversity and inclusion where everyone feels safe.

2

Advocates.

When a woman reaches out to us, she is connected to a dedicated advocate. This advocate, a licensed social worker, will help understand her current situation and support her in evaluating her options. Our advocates can help women connect to local services, care, support communities, and more. Think of them as confidential mentors, always judgement-free.

Advocates can offer connections with resources such as housing, food, and prenatal care. No obligation. No pressure. Just love. Advocates are available at no cost to the pregnant women.

3

Adoption Options

If a woman just can’t parent right now, she has the option for adoption. If this is the right choice, we can support her in creating an adoption plan that aligns with her desires and wishes. We have qualified adoptive families available and work closely with the pregnant woman to assure her needs are met and she feels informed, respected, and safe throughout her pregnancy, and for a lifetime.

4

Navigating the System.

Sometimes child welfare is involved. Our social workers are well-equipped to support such situations, and work to put the pregnant woman at the center of decisions, while also working toward the safety and well-being of the child. We can help navigate the requirements of the system, the standards that need to be met, and any parenting classes required.

5

Community Resources

We work with a number of community partners throughout Oregon and Washington to support pregnant women, infants, children, and families. Our advocates can help connect a woman to the right organization that offers services to meet her needs.

Adoption Services

An adoption can give a birth mother an opportunity to fulfill lifelong goals such as college, career, and the chance to parent when the time is right for her. It also provides a safe and loving home for the baby and allows an adoptive family to fulfill their dream of parenting a child.

Choice Adoptions can support and facilitate adoptions that align to the needs and wishes of the pregnant woman. We work locally and nationally to pair families and support pregnant women in Oregon and Washington.

1

Open Adoption

An open adoption allows for some form of association among the birth parents, adoptive parents, and the child they adopted.

2

Closed Adoption

A closed adoption is one where no identifying information about the expectant family or the adoptive family is shared between the two, and there is no contact between the families.

3

Family Adoption and Fostering

Sometimes a family member takes care of a baby when the birth mother isn’t able. We can support both parties and facilitate the necessary due-diligence and paperwork.
