Choice Adoptions is inspired and deeply thankful for our Waiting Families: couples who have decided to open up every inch of their lives to adopt and raise a child. This blog series highlights some of their stories. Today, we have the privilege to share with you about Jon and Alice!
Jon and Alice began their life together in 2007 and experienced the overwhelming delight of adopting their daughter, Joy, who is now 5 years old. They’re excited and prepared for their family to grow through adoption once again!
One of the most unique things about their family is their amazing home and farm! Their yard has tons of room to run and play, a sandbox and a wading pool in the summertime. Chickens, ducks and their friendly cat, Toffee, roam their farm and provide a great chance for kids to develop a love for animals. Their quiet, peaceful neighborhood has friendly neighbors and kids who love to come over to collect the chicken eggs and play on their swingset. Jon and Alice grow and produce much of their food themselves on their farm, including beef, eggs, walnuts, hazelnuts, apples, grapes, and a variety of berries and vegetables. They’re committed to providing excellent physical and emotional care for their kids.
This family loves deeply and know what it takes to care for children. They have a supportive extended family, with cousins who love to visit and grandparents who love close by. Whether they’re exploring new places or going on family camping trips, they are always finding new ways for their family to experience joy and laughter.
Jon and Alice are excited for what’s ahead as a Waiting Family.
